Late Night Series at Actors Theatre The Late Seating at Actors Theatre of Louisville is providing a chance to chase away those post-Derby blues with a Derby’s Over Party on May 16 at 10:30 pm. The party will feature an Iron Bartender contest with celebrity judges and a gonzo-inspired performance by Le Petomane Theatre Ensemble. The iron bartender contest will showcase local barkeeps racing to impress celebrity judges by concocting the best cocktail in the time allotted. Participants will include Ken Pyle, owner of the Rudyard Kipling, Jeni Pittman of Proof on Main and others to be announced. On hand to judge whose beverage reigns supreme will be Lebowski Fest co-founder Scott Shuffit, the Courier-Journal’s pop culture writer Tamara Ikenberg and LEO magazine’s “Bar Belle,” Sara Havens. The Late Seating will also feature a Derby-inspired performance of Gonzopolis by Le Petomane Theatre Ensemble, which takes place in a frenzied dystopia where prices are high, traffic is miserable and the mad roam the streets on four-poster beds. It is the stuff of fiction, of course, and in no way meant to resemble any local spring festival. This original evening of comedy and song celebrates the city, its people and their will to survive one more Derby. Tickets to the Derby’s Over Party are $5 (or free with an Actors ticket stub). Call (502) 584-1205 to purchase tickets or stop by the box office at Third and Main Street. The Late Seating at Actors, now in its second season, is a late night series featuring work by local artists in performance, visual art, music and video.
