THE LATE SEATING CALL FOR ART
The producing team invites artists in all media, including but not limited to visual, music and performing art, to submit proposals for the upcoming 2010-2011 season of The Late Seating at Actors.

The Late Seating, a series of late night events at Actors Theatre, aims to create an environment which showcases local artists, ignites conversation between creative disciplines and provides an entertaining evening for young art enthusiasts.

ARTIST SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Theatre/Performance Art

Please submit a one-page statement of your work and proposed performance. If available, please include finished or rough script. If script is not available, artists must include an outline of the proposed content. Include names and contact information for all performers/directors/playwrights involved and any known technical needs.

If a dance piece is proposed, please provide an outline describing the type of dance and presentation, as well as technical needs for performance (i.e. space needed to perform dance, any limitations on types of flooring in order to perform dance).

ALL performances must be 10 minutes or less, cannot require a set or major light/sound design. Performer/theatre company must provide all props, costumes and sound cues, and be available for at least one technical rehearsal prior to the event. All performers are required to attend technical rehearsal, generally scheduled between 4 - 6 pm the day before The Late Seating event.

Visual Art
Please submit one-page that includes an artist statement describing your work, a description of two to six proposed pieces for display (including dimensions, medium, proposed price if for sale, how the piece may be hung/exhibited) and contact information. Sample portfolios or digital images of the proposed pieces are strongly encouraged.

All art must be displayable on easel or pedestal Artists are invited to propose a plan to create a piece of art at the event in addition to exhibiting two to six pieces. Some space limitations apply for exhibited work and some technical limitations apply for work created during the event. Artists are responsible for set up of art prior to event and takedown at close of event. Artists are responsible for any sales of art during the event; The Late Seating will not take a commission on the art sold during this event. Installation of accepted visual art will be scheduled by appointment.

Bands and Music
Please submit a brief description of your work and/or a review, a demo CD, digital or online music sample and contact information for all band members. Please note the proposed length of performance for your act and whether you will bring your own equipment or list any specific equipment/technical needs. All performers are required to attend technical rehearsal, generally scheduled between 4 - 6 pm the day before The Late Seating event. DJs are encouraged to submit a proposal for playing at one of The Late Seating party events.

Video
Please submit a brief description of your work, a demo DVD, digital or online video sample and contact information. Please note the proposed length of video, format and sound needs. Installation/technical rehearsal will be scheduled as necessary.

Other Media
If your work does not easily fit into one of the above categories, please send a one-page artist statement describing your work and proposal for The Late Seating, along with contact information of all artists/participants.
