Classes are designed for adult students, age 19 and older. Teaching is based on a realistic, naturalistic approach to stage, film, and commercial acting through text analysis skills. Students work on self- selected monologues in order to learn about character development and stage presence .
We provide a safe environment where you can take risks and learn about:
Business aspects of acting such as photos, resumes, agents, etc.
How to audition on-camera and for voice-over
Physical and vocal skills
Relaxation, focus, concentration
How to network and find auditions
How to make the most of your rehearsals
How to have fun and reconnect with your creative instincts
No prior experience is needed. Previous students are welcome. Class size is limited to assure individualized and personalized attention. Classes are filled on a first-come basis. Each student works at his or her own skill level and pace.
Classes are held in the 5th floor rehearsal halls of the Alexander Speer Building at 315 W. Market Street, Louisville. We reserve the right to cancel this class and return application fees based on a minimum number of registrations. Refunds are not offered for missed classes.

Cancellation policy: Deadline to cancel class is 5 days prior to start of first class if class minimum is not met, unless otherwise discussed with instructor.

Zan Sawyer-Dailey teaches all classes. As casting director at Actors Theatre of Louisville from 1985 to 2016, she has seen thousands of professional auditions. She has taught acting and master classes at many universities, as well as for the Professional Theatre Training Program at Actors Theatre. She has a Master of Fine Arts from Florida State University and a B.A. in theatre arts from Butler University. She trained professionally at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England.
