The voice is an important tool to the actor. Class will explore the body’s relationship to the voice and how tension can affect the voice. Students will be lead through a series of Linklater voice techniques that include relaxation, breath awareness and the development of resonance. Class size is limited to assure individualized and personalized attention.

Classes are designed for adult students, age 18 and older. No prior experience is needed. Previous students are welcome.

Janelle Renee Dunn, originally from Duncan, South Carolina, is an actor, producer and teaching artist. She has a M.F.A. in Acting from the University of Louisville and a B.A. in Theatre (Directing) from Berea College. She the Education Associate for Actors Theatre. Before joining Actors, she taught drama workshops to students for three years throughout Louisville. She also appeared in the title role of a local kid’s touring show, Kylie for President (Drama by George). Dunn is the producer of Ain't I a Woman Playfest, a play festival highlighting the work of women of color playwrights.
