New Voices Young Playwrights Festival

The New Voices Young Playwrights Festival is a 10-minute play festival of student written plays fully produced by the Learning & Creative Engagement department and the Professional Training Company. Each playwright in the New Voices Young Playwrights Festival has the opportunity to develop their play through conversations with peer writers, a dramaturg, a director and cast.

Through playwright workshops, dramaturgy discussions, production meetings and  rehearsals, the New Voices playwrights play an active integral role in the shaping of their production.

The New Voices Contest invites students in Kentucky and the 812 area code of Southern Indiana to submit original ten-minute plays to Actors Theatre. Every play submitted receives feedback and is considered for production in our New Voices Young Playwrights Festival.
