NEW VOICES: The Story of Old Walnut Street

Actors Theatre of Louisville continues our tradition of empowering and supporting young talent through our New Voices program. Now, in its 17th year, we are re-imagining and expanding New Voices to celebrate the range of self-expression and artistry. From October to March, students will learn about and engage in various methods of storytelling and artistic expression resulting in a culminating piece about Old Walnut Street. Students will be mentored by professional artists and be fully engaged in the process of developing this new work while experiencing various aspects of development such as: research and dramaturgy, writing and editing, and learning from and incorporating feedback.

We are looking for 6 to 8 multi-hyphenate student artists, ages 16-18/11th and 12th grade, for our creative cohort to build this project with our professional creative team and teaching artists. This program is best suited for those who have many artistic passions and hope to expand their creativity, learn from the past and participate in transforming the future.
