The Professional Training Company (PTC) produces a full season of shows focused on new works and emerging artists. The 39 members of the company produce, support and participate in some or all of these productions in roles corresponding with their area of focus.

A series of short solo-performances written and performed by acting apprentices with the support of PTC members, Actors Theatre staff and guest artists.
A series of short plays written for and produced by the company. PTC members work with the playwrights to develop and produce their work.
Members of the PTC work in tandem with Actors Theatre Staff to help produce a series of world premieres written by established and emerging playwrights. Included in the festival is a full-length work written to be workshopped and performed by the Acting Apprentice Company under the leadership of professional artistic staff.
Plays written by high school and middle school students in the Louisville area are chosen to be produced at Actors Theatre. Members of the PTC are given the opportunity to participate in the selection, development, performance and realization of the winning plays.
Company members are encourages to step outside their curriculum to undertake and explore other artistic endeavors. Company members hold complete creative and producorial control of these projects with mentorship made available.
Agents, casting directors and other industry professionals are invited each year to attend a showcase of short scenes performed by the acting apprentice company.
