The Producing and Casting Apprentice works directly with the Artistic Producer and PTC Directors to help produce programming throughout Actors Theatre. This apprentice has the opportunity to take a leadership role in the producing of the PTC season as well as assist in producing the mainstage season, Humana Festival, and other special events and projects. This apprentice also assists in all local and apprentice casting duties for the season.
Learn how to produce theatrical productions ranging from no-budget independent projects to fully produced mainstage works
Learn aspects of artistic producing, line producing, and coordinating as applies to an artistic department
Learn how to assist artists in the advancement of their work, both artistically and logistically
Develop an understanding of Actors Equity Association and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society contract regulations for guest artists
Learn how to function as a brand ambassador for a professional theatre
Learn how to handle the daily operations of an artistic office
Learn how to navigate the theatre industry and be a viable candidate for future employment
Serve as producer or assistant producer for the PTC Season under the guidance of the PTC Artistic Coordinator
Assist the Artistic Producer with line producing as needed for mainstage and Humana Festival productions as well as special events and projects
Serve as Audition Coordinator for the 2019-2020 PTC Acting Apprenticeships. It may be possible for the apprentice to travel with PTC Directors for certain legs of recruitment tour.
Observe and assist with local and apprentice auditions, learning about artistic decision making and the casting process.
Process work orders, budget documents, event forms, and other in-house documents to generally assure expedient and reliable organization of day-to-day operations

The Producing & Casting Apprentice primarily works five days a week from 9-5 in addition to attending rehearsals and performances for mainstage and PTC seasons. It is possible for this apprentice to hold flexible outside employment.
