Through collaboration and innovation, students use the radio play format to develop facility with playwriting and acting. Students will learn the history of one of the earliest forms of popular theatre and use that knowledge to comment on contemporary issues theatrically. The program consists of 5, 50-minute sessions with an Actors Theatre teaching artist, over the course of 5 weeks, incorporating classroom time for writing and rehearsal without the teaching artist present.
For more information, please email Erica Denise, Director of Learning and Creative Engagement, at EDenise@ActorsTheatre.org.
Good news! if you would like to distribute a viewing link to each student in your class, you have the option to book per student. Tickets are $10 per student.
If you would like to broadcast a performance to your class in a group setting, you have the option to purchase a per classroom option. This option is $250 per classroom.
Each of our performances is given a rating based on how age-appropriate we believe them to be. We recommend i for grades 3+, Dracula: A Radio Play for grades 6+, and Where Did We Sit on the Bus? and Romeo and Juliet: Louisville 2020 for grades 8+.
Along with a link to stream the performance, you will receive a pre-field trip workshop video and a study guide for students and educators.
