Lauren Lane

Lauren Lane (Rachel) last worked at Actors Theatre of Louisville in Prelude to a Kiss, directed by Bob Krakower. Regional Theatre includes: five years as a company member of Tim Robbins’s L.A. theatre company The Actors’ Gang, Fixing Troilus and Cressida with Rude Mechs, the New Work Festival at Mark Taper Forum, Dinner with Friends at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and numerous productions at American Conservatory Theatre. TV: She played the comic villain C.C. Babcock for six seasons on the award-winning television series, The Nanny; Chris Novak, the female lead in the police procedural Hunter; and Julie Rayburn, a testicle-twisting TV anchorwoman on L.A. Law. Ms. Lane has collaborated with noteworthy directors: Oskar Eustis, Brian Kulick, Lisa Peterson, Michael Rau, Gail Mancuso and Lee Shallat. Honors and awards include: L.A. Weekly Theater Award for Best Supporting Actress (The Oresteia); four Austin Critics Table Awards for Best Comedic Actress (August: Osage County, The Clean House, House of Several Stories and Becky’s New Car); four-time winner of Austin’s B. Iden Payne Award for Best Actress. The Austin Chronicle named her a “Theatrical Wonder” in their annual Top Ten Awards. Additional Credits: Lane is a tenured Associate Professor at Texas State University and has taught at Carnegie Mellon University; The University of California, San Diego; American Conservatory Theatre and The University of Texas. She coaches private students auditioning for graduate and undergraduate programs and clients advancing their skills. Her favorite job will always and forever be raising her daughter Kate.
