Auditions and Casting

Actors Theatre of Louisville employs actors under the LORT contract with Actors’ Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers. The union determines the number of non-Equity actors in any production that the theatre may use.

Upcoming National Auditions

Seasonal Equity Principle Auditions

Request an Audition

Actors Theatre alternates between AEA office cities each year for our out of town seasonal EPAs in order to see the widest range of actors. Our national seasonal EPA for the 2019-2020 season will take place in Washington D.C. on April 29, 2019 at Arena Stage. Casting Notices will be released on the Actors Equity Audition web page. You may request an audition for that day by completing the audition request form.

Production Specific Principle Auditions

For show and role specific auditions within our season, Actors Theatre uses a combination of both in-house casting and New York based Casting Directors. Regardless of who is casting a specific project, we will always release casting notices for all auditioned roles to the Actors Equity Audition web page and to Breakdown Express for agent submissions.
