Join the award-winning artists of Actors Theatre of Louisville for a Summer Intensive! Actors Theatre continues our tradition of empowering and supporting young talent through our New Voices program.

High school students and recent graduates ages 14-19 who are interested in a Bilingual Intensive featuring storytelling and devising original work in collaboration. The participants will include both English and Spanish speakers. If you speak one or both languages, or have an interest in doing so, this is for you!

Building on the success of the show Slanguage, students will collaborate with the nationally recognized ensemble UNIVERSES in a bilingual workshop exploring creative expression through writing, musically-infused poetic storytelling, dance, and rhythm. More about Slanguage can be found here:

The Intensive will take place June, 18 - 29, meeting Tuesday through Saturday from 12p.m.-2p.m. A final rehearsal and PERFORMANCE will be held on the final day, June 29 (12p.m. - 5p.m.). The performance will begin at 4p.m.

$0 - $400 | New Voices is supported by the LG&E and KU Foundation and the Norton Foundation and so we are pleased to offer admission on a sliding scale. Please choose the level that best matches your capacity. The amount you select will not impact acceptance into the program.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until April 15, 2024. Participants will be notified of their admission around mid-May 2024.
