POSITION SUMMARY 

The objectives of this role include record keeping with all transactions, compiling monthly and quarterly financial accounts and optimize our financial management procedures. Along with the review of procedures, this role will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of financial systems and software that will create efficiencies. Like all positions within the organization this role will have high ethics, integrity, and accountability. 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage and administer accounts receivable and payable, as well as cash and credit expense reporting. 
  • Manage and administer weekly and bi-weekly payroll. 
  • Assisting departments in creating and managing forecasts and budgets for various projects. 
  • Ensure cash and credit card expense reports are complete monthly, and review for accuracy according to organizational policies and procedures. 
  • Verify the accuracy of account coding and receipts in the financial database. 
  • Resolve account discrepancies and perform daily, monthly, and annual transaction reconciliations. 
  • Cross-train on the responsibilities and tasks of the Director of Finance to serve as backup as needed. 
  • Develop and maintain a system for receiving and maintaining documents and receipts.
  • Be a point of contact for inquiries regarding finances and accounting from other areas. 
  • Facilitate projects relating to cash flow, financial reporting, and revenue and expenses. 
  • Gather and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and/or develop solutions to keep projects on budget and on time. 
  • Establish appropriate internal controls and project governance. 
  • Support design and execution of the implementation process, including business requirement gathering, process documentation and solutions design 
  • Implement strategies, ensuring staff are trained and adjusted to the new process and systems. 
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance. 

Financial Staff Skills and Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with course work in accounting preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience required for the successful performance of the primary job duties. 
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience. 
  • Excellent understanding of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. 
  • Experience with managing finance projects and system implementation 
  • Excellent bookkeeping skills. 
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness, proactive in identifying and resolving problems. 
  • Intellectual curiosity, a resilient personality, and excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong communication skills, orally and in writing 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work independently. 
  • Team and result focused, maintains a positive and willing attitude. 
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast paced and changing work environment.
