Blending burlesque-inspired modern dance, spoken word, and live multimedia, the piece reframes sex work through the lens of survival, agency, and autonomy while examining the hidden costs of pursuing financial freedom. Developed in Louisville, Kentucky and rooted in lived experience, Mimi emphasizes audience engagement through proximity and shared presence, using movement, mirrors, and projection to foster empathy and connection.
