Abraham Makany
Abraham Makany is an NYC based actor of mixed Latino and Persian heritage. He is honored to return to Actors Theatre, having previously appeared here in the 43rd Humana Festival with The Corpse Washer. Louisville holds a special place for him as a home for bold storytelling and open-hearted audiences.
His stage work includes Broadway’s Tony Award winning The Lehman Trilogy, Noura (Marin Theatre Company), Bars and Measures (Urban Stages), Waterwell’s Hamlet (The Sheen Center), Job (The Flea Theater), Kandahar to Canada (Ensemble Studio Theatre), and the Obie Award winning The Brig at The Living Theatre. He has also developed plays with The Public Theater, Atlantic Theater Company, Manhattan Theatre Club, The Lark, Classic Stage Company, and Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
Television credits include Succession, The Chosen, Orange Is the New Black, Gotham, Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, Homeland, Blindspot, and The Americans. Film work includes Kisses and Bullets (Tribeca), Rainbow Ruthie (SXSW), Brooklyn Park (Palm Springs IFF), In the Weeds (Harlem IFF), and Revelation of Divine Love (Marseille IFF).
Born in Houston, TX, Abraham trained at Rutgers University’s Professional Actor Training Program.
